Britain is Dying

Great Britain currently finds itself in the very Orwellian Catch-22 described in that quote. It's slowly being consumed by insanity, devolving into a clown country. That wouldn't be so bad if it were the same famous British humor that gave us Monty Python, Ricky Gervais, Jonathan Pie, and the cast of Top Gear, except it's not that kind of humor. It's more of the dark, ironic, karmic, nightmarish variety that leads to the mass incarceration and slaughter of innocent people. Of lawlessness mixed with radical ideologies and a warped sense of justice that puts whimsical feelings ahead of facts and principles.
So more like a hybrid of the villains from the Dark Knight trilogy.
Once again, it seems like it's going to come down to the Americans having to bail out Great Britain from the forces of European authoritarianism if things continue on as they have been. This will make for the third time, and frankly we're getting sick of it. We hate doing it and would rather not, because that shit's expensive in more ways than one and this time it's wholly your own fault; but you're our oldest and dearest friend, GB, even if we had a rocky start to the relationship. So of course, we'll be there for you if it comes down to it; we'd just really prefer if you just start to wise up and get your shit together.
After all, you made us into what we are today. We know you have it in you.
At a time when the world was gripped in tyrannical monarchy, who was it that first decided the king wasn't the sole arbiter of rights? That's right, it was England. In 1215, the council of barons got together to, for the first time in history, draft a list of complaints and submit them to King John with the threat of his removal if those demands for liberty were not met.
Many people forget that England had its own revolution and civil war well before their American counterparts, complete with their own constitution (kind of) as well as a Bill of Rights. That it was England who, in a time when slavery was a worldwide phenomenon, led the way in putting an end to the horrible practice of human ownership, and they did so through largely legalistic and economic means, unlike the U.S. and Haiti (or indeed unlike other monarchal States such as Saudi Arabia that still practice it today).
The great minds of liberty like Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson, John Locke, John Adams, and so forth all came from British stock.
Of course we all know Braveheart and that famous scene of William Wallace standing before the noble armies of Scotland, and vociferously proclaiming that the tyrants may take our lives, but they will never take our freedom:
Then there's Wellington, who defeated Napoleon at Waterloo, and Churchill who stood up to Adolf Hitler and the Nazi war machine in Europe. Yes, you had your empire, and we've had our spats with you as well. None of that was great, but you weren't unique in that regard. The rest of the world did too and that's largely behind us now. You've shown a unique willingness to rise up and be better than the past.
To be a real leader.
We all know the British tradition is one rich in the advancement of liberty, both for itself, for Europe, and the world. Yet you'd hardly know it, looking at the state of Great Britain today.
How can the same country that did so much for freedom be the same country that detains conservative journalists like Lauren Southern and Brittany Pettibone on acts of hate and terror while real terrorists are allowed to return? How can the same country that fought a bloody war against a regime that jailed people for mocking the Nazi salute then turn around and jail a man for mocking the Nazi salute while radical extremists form terror cells while in prison, but are never stopped for fear of inciting charges of bigotry and Islamophobia? #FreeDankula, #BritInBritain
We bailed your asses out of two world wars, ensuring your continued right to freedom of speech, and yet there are cities in the UK that want to boycott our President for being politically incorrect.
Your government makes you ask their permission to watch television or have internet (which is what a license is) and you pay for it in taxes for them to sit there and fucking lie to you and berate you for thinking critically and for caring about your own interests, while themselves committing discriminatory hiring practices.
You're essentially paying for your own Two Minutes of Hate:
Personally, I think universal healthcare is a form of extortion, but if y'all want it, that's your business. Yet you have economic migrants sneaking into your country on lories who are mostly there just to get welfare that your taxpayers are then paying for, without knowing what their values are or where their interests lie. You have child grooming gangs in Rotherham and Telford that are allowed to persist for decades because no one will prosecute the offenders for fear of being called racist (even though Islam is not a race), meanwhile the BBC is allowed to discriminate against white people who did nothing wrong and their end goals don't even match up with national demographic statistics anyway.
You have truck attacks and bombings carried out by radical Islamic terrorists.
We have that here too, don't get me wrong, but we at least have guns to defend ourselves if fighting ever broke out in the streets. How will you defend yourselves?
Your government clearly isn't interested in protecting you nor do they seem able.
They seem far more preoccupied with cracking down on so-called hate speech (which isn't a thing) and throwing people in jail for offensive Tweets because they said negative things about Islam; yet it's perfectly ok to criticize Israel or Christianity.
(And believe me, I've plenty of criticism of Israel and Christianity myself.)
We live in a world where you can't say anything bad about anyone, where you're supposed to respect people's feelings and not call them names because it's offensive (and trust me, I know when and how to weaponize feels); yet in a classic case of Orwellian doublethink, you can shout people down for wrong-think and dehumanize them as a racist, sexist, xenophobic, homophobic, Islamophobic, poor-hating, child-murdering, Nazi all day everyday, and that's ok. That's not verbal abuse. That's not prejudice. Those people don't have feelings. Their feelings don't matter, because they're not human and it's not fascistic to use physical force against them. May as well just round them up right now and gas them, right?
Oh, that's right. I forgot. Love of one's country is passe in a globalist world.
If people can sit there and develop the thick skin needed to cope with be called all those things I just listed, which are about the worst things ever in the progressive lexicon, then everyone else can suffer through being called whatever else.
Maybe it'd be a different story if they actually applied the terms to the right people - to the people who actually believed those things - but things have gotten so warped they're just used as a club to beat down political opposition, thus cheapening the terms and the violence.
What'll you do when those sort of people actually rise up and seize power, but you've spent your clip of slurs on people who simply post edgy memes?
Again, by and large, Britain seems to be ignoring the real dangerous people at the moment.
The Nazis were the national socialist worker's party. How else would you describe Jeremy Corbyn's Labour Party, for instance, except as a socialist worker's party. He's not a nationalist, granted, but then that was never the part that was the problem. The part that's the problem is, he wants to turn Great Britain into socialist Venezuela and all his followers seem to have no issue at all following him down that idiot path like a bunch of lemmings going over a fiscal cliff.
If anyone should know better, it's Britain.
The same country that opposed the real Nazis is doing this. They've become the very thing they fought against. So I guess the Nazis won, they're just not who you thought they were.
As a nationalist and a secessionist, I'd really hoped Brexit was going to be a shining moment for you, in which you united under a common banner and told the hegemonic EU to go fuck itself. That you'd seize control of your own destiny again, instead of handing it off to unaccountable bureaucrats in Brussels, but now it seems Theresa May is waffling on that commitment.
So much for her being the Margaret Thatcher to Trump's Ronald Reagan.
I was even for Scottish independence, both before and after Brexit, because I'm consistent in my belief in the right to autonomy, self-determination, and limited government like that. Let everyone go to their own corner to do what they want, how they want, when they want, without infringing on the rights of others or forcing them to participate against their will, but you failed there too.

Frankly, GB, you need an intervention, desperately. Problem is, we Americans (at least those to the right of Comrade Corbyn) likely won't be welcome in your country soon at the rate things are going, which means you're gonna have to do it yourself. It's hard to sit back and watch helplessly as your friends flounder and fail, but you brought this on yourselves. There's actually a part of me that's disgusted enough with your behavior to wanna cut you off and just let you suffer through this alone as a lesson to you; but as I said, we're old friends and I even personally have close friends and family in the UK, so my fortunes are tied to yours for better or worse.
So here's some free advice.
We Americans took your tradition of liberty and perfected it. We learned from you and built something better and fought tooth and nail to protect it. I recommend you do the same.
Our system works because our laws are codified, unlike yours, and we have weapons to defend them.

We Americans have it easy in a way. Our laws are written down and given almost sacrosanct status as holy objects. We have something we can point to that is clear. We can point to the First Amendment and the Second Amendment and the Fourth Amendment and the Fifth Amendment and show empirically where we have the right to free speech, to free press, to bear arms, to due process, to the presumption of innocence, to face your accusers, to protection against unlawful search and seizure, to free thought, to free association, to remain silent, and so forth.
Its engrained in our memetic code as a ubiquitous part of our pop culture.
Your laws are not. You have no written constitution. No symbol. No cultural tradition of pointing to such artifacts and saying, "We have a system. This is settled law!" and no weapons to serve as a deterrent against creeping tyranny. As such, you may well have the right to free speech and to bear arms and the rest (because they're inalienable human rights), but there's no rallying point, no enforcement mechanism in place. No catalyst to serve as a lightning rod for your electric righteous anger. Instead, you have things like Schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act, and Section 127 of the Communications Act. Things Big Brother can rally around and point to with ease, and they have plenty of guns to enforce their position and to bully you into compliance, but you remain disinterested and helpless to do anything.
My advice is that you fix that and fix it fast or you will lose your country!!
Call your MEPs and have them codify this stuff if it's not already. It doesn't have to be a monumental thing like drafting a new Magna Charta (although maybe that's what you need at this point), but for God's sake start with something. Even if it's just something simple like passing a single brief piece of legislation ensuring your freedom of speech before they shut down Speaker's Corner too.

In the U.S., we've had issues with creeping government too, but our Supreme Court generally shoots down such laws because it's not left up to their interpretation. We operate on the same Common Law as you do, after all, and their oath is to preserve and protect that system as written.
You guys seem to have a real problem with discretion.
I don't think I have to tell you how dangerous it is that a judge can unilaterally decide that Count Dankula's joke is offensive to the public in absence of complaining witnesses or even a jury of his peers. Or how "offense" and "hate" themselves are such vague and nebulous concepts that trying to craft a just legal system based on them can only ever devolve into tyranny.
And just so we're clear, I don't even particularly like the guy, but that's irrelevant, because he has rights like any other human and #ItsOkToBeHuman. He's a perfect example of the principle we have here of, "I disagree with what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it," and he's not even my fellow countryman.

It grossly offends me that this system of abuse exists in your country. It grossly offends me that your pathological altruism will destroy your culture. It grossly offends me that I appear to care more about the human rights of your citizens than half your fellow Brits do. It grossly offends me that people go to jail for thought crimes. It grossly offends me that you don't give a shit and are just content not just to let it happen, but to welcome it like it's somehow a good thing. It offends me that you're treating 1984 like a how-to manual instead of a warning. All this grossly offends me and I consider it a hate crime that the UK government would so abuse the very people it was elected to protect and serve!
How about we put the UK government on trial instead?
