History and Law

"Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it." ~ George Santayana

In order to prevent the abuses of government, it is important to know what has gone on before in order that we might draw parallels between what followed and what will follow the present.  If we hope to craft a better system of government, we need to know the circumstances under which the old government was founded, and how circumstances caused it to change over time.  We also need to study law, both in context and with reference to first principles.  Towards that end, the following resources should help to get you started.
